Fifth Grade

Dear 5th Grade Students and Parents at South Lake,

In this chaotic time, the 5th grade teachers in South Lake hope that you are all safe and healthy.  In an attempt to keep the kids minds sharp, some work and activities have been compiled for students to practice until we can see each other again!  This weekly work is meant to be a review of skills already learned in class this year and not a means of providing new instructional materials.

You will receive 3 weeks of activities in Math, Reading and Writing.  There are 5 activities per subject for each week.  There is also a resource page with links to online sites kids can go to and learn and play on.

Please help your child by printing the 3 weeks of activities we have created for them.  You can access these pages by going to the South Lake website, clicking on the “Student” tab, click on the “learning portal” tab and then click on “5th grade”.  You will then see all of the great things we have for the students to work on during this time outside the classroom.

If you have any questions, please email your child’s respective teacher as you normally would.

Together, we will prevail during this uncertain time and can help to keep the students minds sharp and ready for our return to the classrooms.

Sincerely,

Mr. Wyber, Ms. Menge, Mrs. Merrill, Mr. Weir and Mrs. DeCook

Online Educational Resources

The following are websites that we as South Lake educators believe are valuable to your child during this time off.  These are being offered for free during this break from school. If you have internet access at home, working on these games or activities can help you have fun while still learning.
