Elementary Electives
Hello there, South Lake Students and Families!
I hope you are doing well. I miss getting to see you for P.E. class, so I wanted to say hello. Even though I won’t get to see you at school, we can still be active, get our exercise and have fun!
To help us all stay active and healthy, I made this resource for you, which includes different ways that we can still be active over these next few weeks. In this packet, there are some resources for you to check out, including a calendar. If you are able, you can also view these resources online at https://msstaniszewskispe.blogspot.com/. The site has this information, plus some links and tips that will help you stay active over these next few weeks.
Please know, that if you have any questions, or even if you would like to say hello, you can always email me at [email protected]. This is also how we can stay connected over these next few weeks.
See you all soon, Ms. Staniszewski

Greetings South Lake Families!
Because we will not be having our regularly scheduled art time during our time away from school, I have put together a few art activity ideas. These activities don’t require fancy art materials and can be enjoyed by the whole family!
Non-representational Hands: (Materials needed are paper, pencil, and color pencils/crayons/markers)
Step 1: Trace your hand multiple times (about five to seven times) on the surface of the paper.
Step 2: Use colors (crayons, color pencils, or markers) to color inside the shapes/spaces that were created by overlapping the hands.
Warm/Cool Color Hands: (Materials needed are paper, pencil, and crayons/color pencils/markers)
First, trace your hand on the paper.
Then, draw circles (start small and radiate outward, getting gradually larger until the circles no longer fit on the paper) over the paper, overlapping the hand.
Next, color the spaces inside of the hand shape using only colors from the warm color spectrum (red, orange, yellow). Finally, color the circle areas using only colors from the cool color spectrum (blue, green, purple).
Funny-Face Collage: (Materials needed are pictures of people, paper, scissors, and glue)
First, gather/collect some sources (photos of people from magazines, printed from internet, etc.).
Next, get a paper to use as a background surface (pictures will be glue to this).
Then, cut out a picture of a face (larger is better), and glue it onto the background paper. If it is difficult to find a larger face, you may certainly use multiple, smaller faces.
Then, find and cut out different facial features (eyes, noses, mouths, etc.) to attach to the face. The completed faces will look silly, funny, and sometimes a little creepy! Feel free to draw in an environment/background and maybe create a story about the silly/creepy looking people that you’ve just created….
Step-by-Step Drawings: (Materials needed are paper, pencil, and color pencil/crayons/markers)
Spring is here! Celebrate the new season with some flower drawings. Just follow the steps on the following templates:
