Distance Learning OpportunitiesDistance Learning programs are available through the MISD in partnership with various organizations. Some of the more popular programs include ASK - (Author, Specialist, and Knowledge), Fieldtrip Fridays, electronic field trips to various museums, and other public attractions. Requirement for Online Learning Component
Beginning with the Class of 2011 students will need to complete an online learning component to meet the Michigan Merit Curriculum requirements. The Michigan Department of Education has provided a guide at http://www.michigan.gov/documents/mde/Online10.06_final_175750_7.pdf that provides a framework and rationale for this requirement. There is a companion document at http://www.michigan.gov/documents/mde/OE_Companion_Doc_12-06_184084_7.pdf that further details the specifics of this requirement.
