Congratulations to Jacob Comfort! On Friday he competed in the EMS Skills Competition and has advanced to the State Competition.
Jacob and other students in this competition performed a written test, then participated in a hands on practical skills test. This involved each team treating a patient with an bleeding injury. They had to do a patient assessment, find, prioritize and treat injuries based on the severity. Stabilize the patient and treat any additional injuries found according to accepted medical treatment protocols real life paramedics and EMTs use.
The students practiced at least two days a week after school and countless number of hours on their own at home for this competition.
Again, congratulations to South Lake High School's Jacob Comfort!
