To answer community questions and to increase support for his campaign, Democratic vice presidential candidate, Joe Biden, a senator from Delaware, will be leading the town hall meeting in the gymnasium here on Monday at 11 a.m.
On such short notice, principal Louis Steigerwald and other school personnel are working fervently to make all necessary arrangements for the senator's arrival.
"People from all over Macomb County, especially St. Clair Shores, will be attending," Steigerwald said. "The experience will be very good for our school."
Superintendent Deborah Thompson feels students will gain much from this experience.
"I believe students will have a better appreciation in general of how the electoral process works [after they participate in this event]," Thompson said.
Agreeing with Thompson, Student Congress vice president Alex Daguanno, a senior, plans to be on stage with other members of Student Congress, with select AP Government students, and with Biden.
"Although I'm not a Democratic supporter, I want to be as involved as I can be," Daguanno said. "I'm very interested in the November election."
